Elders' Institute e-News
Welcome to the June 2008 issue of the Elders' Institute e-News.

The Elders' Institute team recently returned from the Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) and General Assembly in Ottawa and is gearing up for several new fall courses. See our full lineup of courses on our website www.eldersinstitute.ca.

Demand growing for popular course
Serving as a Ruling Elder

The Elders' Institute may run an extra session of the course Serving as a Ruling Elder this fall due to interest by folks who missed the spring 2008 session. If your church has recently ordained ruling elders or you know people who are discerning a call to ruling eldership, please contact EI as soon as possible so we can add this course to our fall lineup. Our group rate applies (six participants for the price of five). Call or email Kathleen at elders@standrews.edu for details.

Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) 2008

The PAW event was held on May 31 in Ottawa. Special thanks to the 100 Presbyterian leaders who made the event a success and to St. Paul's Church for hosting us all so graciously. PAW 2009 will take place at Chedoke Church in Hamilton, Ontario, on Saturday, June 6. The brochure listing workshops is available on our website www.eldersinstitute.ca.
