Welcome to the Elder's Institute e-News
This Month's Tip for Ruling Elders Here's a tip to help you with the daunting task of writing
relevant, engaging prayers for public worship: Be yourself. Imagine you
are talking with someone who, you are sure, loves you dearly but who
would certainly know if you tried to pretend to be someone or
something you are not. That is exactly what you do when you
pray. For more tips on this and other topics of
concern for ruling elders, check out the EI Tool Box at www.eldersinstitute.ca.
If
you have a subject you'd like us to address, email your query to elders@standrews.edu.

 We
invite you to include the faces of your ruling elders in this
special project celebrating the service of all ruling elders in The
Presbyterian Church in Canada. For information on photographs
and permission forms and to view the posters made so far, visit
the Special
Projects page on our website: www.eldersinstitute.ca. We've recently received photographs from Kitimat,
B.C., and the Maritimes and will be having more posters
made soon.
Send us a story about an elder who has
inspired faith and service in your congregation. Email your story to
elders@standrews.edu, and
we may include it in our next e-News or newsletter. We will withhold
the names if you wish. |
