The world comes to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics, and the Elders' Institute continues to reach out to elders across Canada.

Practical Presbyterian Polity
The online course Practical Presbyterian Polity written by Tony Plomp, is being offered this spring—May 17 to June 25. For the first time, this course will be taught by Hans Kouwenberg. Suitable for elders or M. Div. students, this course offers a practical and interactive approach for learning about Presbyterian polity and develops the necessary skills to apply it to church life. Topics include effective session meetings, term service, ordination for life and many other practical subjects. Contact Stephen Farris re M. Div. credit. Pilgrimage, From Noyon to Iona: Exploring the Reformed Heritage
CALLING ALL RULING ELDERS (and everyone interested in the Reformed tradition)!
You are invited to enrich your faith and ministry in the leadership of the church by joining in this pilgrimage. We will begin in Paris, France, on September 30, stop in Germany and Switzerland and conclude our pilgrimage in Glasgow, Scotland on October 16.

Cost: $3,195 CDN plus taxes (based on double occupancy). Price is subject to fluctuations in international currency rates.

Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW)
If you're a commissioner to General Assembly this year, be sure to register for PAW 2010 for a day of workshops, worship, lunch, refreshments and a specially made pew cushion (homemade by AMS members). PAW 2010 will take place at Union Presbyterian Church and Camp MacLeod in Albert Bridge, Cape Breton. This year's theme is hospitality ministry. If you register early, the cost is only $65 (a $10 savings). Group discounts are also available for sessions that send 6 or more elders. (You don't have to be a commissioner to attend.
