Elders' Institute director Roberta Clare will be meeting with clerks from across Canada at the annual clerks' consultation in Toronto on April 20 to conduct a needs assessment regarding the developmet of a new manual for ruling elders.

Register Today for Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) 2010
This year, PAW will take place at Union Presbyterian Church and Camp MacLeod in Albert Bridge, Cape Breton on Saturday, June 5. Join with other Presbyterian elders from across Canada for a day of workshops, worship, lunch and refreshments, and receive a specially made pew cushion (homemade by AMS members). This year's theme is hospitality ministry.

Register before April 1 to take advantage of the early-bird special. If you register early, the cost is only $65 (a $10 savings). Bursaries available for Pilgrimage 2010!
The Elders' Institute is pleased to announce that we have been approved for financial support from the Ewart Endowment for Theological Education for Pilgrimage 2010, from Noyon to Iona: Exploring the Reformed Heritage. We are therefore able to offer a limited number of bursaries to ruling elders with demonstrated financial need who register. Enrich your faith and ministry in the leadership of the church by joining in this pilgrimage. We will begin in Paris, France, on September 30, stop in Germany and Switzerland and conclude our pilgrimage in Glasgow, Scotland on October 16.

Cost: $3,195 CDN plus taxes (based on double occupancy). Price is subject to fluctuations in international currency rates.

Practical Presbyterian Polity
Sign up for the online course Practical Presbyterian Polity written by Tony Plomp and taught by Hans Kouwenberg. Suitable for elders or M. Div. students, this course offers a practical and interactive approach for learning about Presbyterian polity and develops the necessary skills to apply it to church life. Topics include effective session meetings, term service, ordination for life and many other subjects. It runs May 17 to June 25. Contact Stephen Farris re M. Div. credit.
