Kathleen Bolton has been involved with The Presbyterian Church in Canada for
most of her life, including being a choir member, Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and custodian. Originally a member of Trinity York Mills in Toronto, she is currently a member at Central Church in downtown Vancouver. Gordon Church and Vancouver Heights (renamed Living Faith Community) both in Burnaby were also her home church for a time.
She brings a variety of educational, editorial and administrative experience to this position. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a BA in Religious Studies (including studying New Testament Greek at Knox College), she completed the Multi-Cultural Teacher Education Program at UBC. She recently earned a diploma from Douglas College in Print Futures: Professional Writing. Her work experience includes working as office manager and volunteering as newsletter editor for Central Presbyterian Church in Vancouver and as Administrative Assistant to the Dean and the board of St. Andrew's Hall. She has written some freelance articles for the Presbyterian Record, which is something she had initially done as a teenager.
Kathleen also has a somewhat ecumenical background, having served for a year with the Mennonite Central Committee in Winnipeg; volunteered at Schloss Mittersill, an IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students) conference centre located in a castle in Austria; and participated in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship groups at UofT and UBC.
