Rev. Jean Morris

Rev. Jean MorrisThe Reverend Jean Morris has served Bethany Care Society for over 10 years. As Vice-President, Spirituality and Pastoral Care, Jean directs the work of the Pastoral Care Department and supports the ministry of seven Chaplains who work directly with residents, families, staff and volunteers. Jean has a deep commitment to the provision of holistic care for residents, which is grounded in a faith-based approach to quality of life. She is interested in and advocates for ecumenical and inter-faith dialogue within and beyond Bethany Care Society. Jean is a gifted speaker, conducting seminars and workshops across Canada. A particular interest is Spirituality and Dementia.

Jean is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in The Presbyterian Church in Canada and has served congregations in Alberta and Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (honours), as well as a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Theology. Jean has Advanced Standing with the Canadian Association of Pastoral Practice and Education. Jean is a member of many regional and national boards and committees and was Moderator of the 131st General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada.

In 2005, Jean was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal for her outstanding contribution to community life.
