Rev. Dr. John Congram

 

John CongramJohn Congram was Moderator of the 123rd General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada, 1997-98. He has served on committees such as Church Doctrine, Congregational Life, Knox Senate and Board of World Mission. He was editor of the Presbyterian Record from 1988 to 2002. Before that he was minister at St. Mark’s, Don Mills, Ontario; St. Giles, Sarnia, Ontario; Knox/Calvin, Hamilton, Ontario; St. Andrew’s, Biggar, Saskatchewan; and minister of outreach at St. Paul’s, Hamilton, Ontario. In recent years he was interim minister for Richmond Hill and St. Andrew’s, Aurora, Ontario. His BD and DD (honorary) are from Knox College.

John wrote This Presbyterian Church of Ours, which is a primary resource for this and other courses run by the Elders' Institute. John lives with his wife, Liz, and dog, Maggie, in North York, Ontario and worships at St. Mark’s, Don Mills.
