Rev. John F.K. Dowds

Rev. John F.K. Dowds Since August 2006, the Rev. John F.K. Dowds has been chaplain for the City of Edmonton, having previously served as minister of Dayspring Presbyterian Church, Edmonton, AB, for 13 years.

Before Dayspring Presbyterian Church, he was in team ministry in Barrie, ON and before that in a four point charge in Prince Edward Island. During the course of his ministry, he has served as Convenor of numerous presbytery committees, been Moderator of the Presbytery of Edmonton/Lakeland, served on the executive committee of the Live the Vision campaign and briefly on the Assembly Council. Currently, he is Convenor of the Pastoral Relations Committee of Presbytery, a member of the national Called to Covenant Committee, on the Board of a local bookstore and a panel member of Edmonton Youth Justice.

John F.K. Dowds interests include conflict mediation, fast cars, golf and crosswords—not necessarily in that order. He has developed Caring for the Congregation in the 21st Century.
