Stephen Hayes was the chairman and chief writer of Living Faith and also served as a chairman of the Committee on Church Doctrine. He is the author of The Eldership in Today's Church, Being a Presbyterian in Canada Today and The Presbyterian Church Upside-Down.

After retiring from being the minister of St. Andrew's, Quebec City in April 2009, Stephen moved back to Ottawa, where he had formerly served as minister of Knox Church.
