The Rev. Dr. Plomp graduated in 1960 with a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and was among the first residents of the new St. Andrew's Hall on the UBC campus. In 1963, he graduated from Knox College. After beginning his ministry in Saskatoon, Tony was called to Richmond Presbyterian Church from where he retired after 36 years. In addition to his congregational ministry, Tony served for 25 years as part-time chaplain at the provincial New Haven Correctional Centre and for more than 30 years as Clerk of the Presbytery of Westminster. In 1987 he was named Moderator of the General Assembly and in 1988 was appointed as a Deputy Clerk of the Assembly.
Tony Plomp and his wife Margaret were married in 1962 and they have two daughters. He has developed Practical Presbyterian Polity.
