Honouring our Ruling Elders

Marilyn Repchuck

Marilyn Repchuck

Marilyn Repchuck is no stranger to many ruling elders in the Presbyterian Church in Canada. In 2009, when Hamilton hosted the 135th General Assembly, Marilyn was convener of the local arrangements committee. This year, attendees at Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) 2011 in London discovered that Marilyn has served as a ruling elder for 33 years, since 1978. In 2012, she will be one of the workshop leaders for the Elders’ Institute’s Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) 2012. Read more...

Elsie Maddock

Elsie Maddock

Elsie was also involved in many other church-related activities, being recognized as the top fundraiser for some of them. She now lives in Temiskaming Lodge, a nursing home in Haileybury, a few kilometres south of New Liskeard. Read more...

Orland Harrison

At the Pre-Assembly Workshops (PAW) 2009, the Elders’ Institute discovered that Orland Harrison of Alexandra Presbyterian Church in Brantford, Ontario, had served as a ruling elder for 50 years.

Clerk of session Paul Kormos says, "His strong Christian faith has spread to the Brantford community as a volunteer. Orland is the type of person who thrives on volunteer work which helps many people who are less fortunate in our community." In 2008, Orland was nominated as Brantford's volunteer of the year.
