Sunday's Coming: A Course for Lay People on Leading Worship
Have you been asked to participate in worship in your congregation? Do you sometimes get asked to preach or lead a service? Would you like to? A "yes" to any of these questions means you're an ideal candidate for this course.
The course is simple, practical and yet deep enough to bring biblical integrity to our worship. Focused on applying your learnings to your local setting, the course looks at all the elements of a worship service.
Part 1 looks at many aspects of worship preparation and leadership, including leading in prayer. Part 2 focuses on preparing and delivering sermons.
The course is sensitive to the context of people in traditional, blended and contemporary worship settings and to people from different size churches. Join us for an interactive, fun and stimulating journey into leading worship that honours Jesus Christ.
Course Outline
Week 1: Welcoming course participants and to begin reading and working together.
Week 2: Identifying the nature and purpose of worship.
Week 3: Understanding the elements and structure of Reformed Worship.
Week 4: Reflecting on the purpose behind worship.
Week 5: Designing a worship service.
Week 6: Completing the preparation of a worship service.
