Introduction to Lay Ministry, Parts 1 and 2
This two-part online course is for ruling elders and lay leaders who serve in churches in various capacities and are learning the skills of ministry along the way. In this course, you will draw on your lived wisdom and hands-on experience to reflect theologically on the ways you serve Christ's church in worship, preaching, pastoral visits and teaching. As you reflect critically on the tasks of ministry, you will learn about Presbyterianism and the nature of God in light of models of worship, planning worship, preaching and pastoral care that are presented. There will be assigned readings, but much of the content of course work will be the events and situations you experience in your ministry week by week.
This course runs for 13 weeks with one week off between the two parts.
