How to Make a Pastoral Visit by Susan Swanney
This self-directed workshop will help elders to be better pastoral visitors. It combines Bible study, reflection, activities, and helpful insights from the author, an experienced and capable pastoral visitor and elder. Whether the study is done individually or in a small group, participants will move through a process of examining various visiting situations along with working on their skills and on their ability to prepare well for this task.
The most important requirement for doing this self-directed workshop may be a large slice of a sense of humour, especially when we look at ourselves—then others. If we cannot laugh at ourselves, how are we going to laugh with others?
