Workshops

One of the ways in which the Elders' Institute seeks to fulfil its mission is through workshops, also called "On-the-Road" courses.

Through workshops, the Elders' Institute works in partnership with presbyteries, congregations and synods to provide training and educational opportunities for ruling elders, ministers/teaching elders, lay leaders, pew folks and friends of the Presbyterian Church. This training can take the form of a conference, retreat or workshop.

The local partner arranges for facilities, takes registrations, and works with the Elders' Institute to develop that particular workshop and produce resources and publicity material. The Elders' Institute provides some or all of the leadership for the workshop.

A flat-rate, fair-share fee system based on $600 per day, regardless of location or type of workshop(s), is used. The Elders' Institute covers all travel expenses, including air fare and accommodation. It does not cover room rental or photocopying expenses. The Elders' Institute staff will email an attachment with the workshop handouts at least one week prior to the workshop(s) to the workshop organizer who will prepare the handouts for the workshop(s).

If you would like to arrange a workshop in your congregation or presbytery, please contact the Elders' Institute. (See Staff & Contacts for contact information.) Learn more about planning a workshop on the Planning page.

Maybe a workshop has already been planned near you! Check the Calendar.
